Longview Extract Tables

In collaboration with CIT, the University Budget Office has made Longview Budget Planning system data available in Oracle databases for use by colleges and units.  This offers a way to use common reporting tools to work with Longview data.

What’s Available

Budget Data

Budget Data is split into two tables.  One contains historic data that is generally static (current year final budget).  The other contains data for the FY being planned (new year base budget).  Click for more details, including table layouts and field definitions…

Access

These tables can be accessed using a Direct Connect ID.  Access is generally limited to the “C-Level” org, i.e., the Direct Connect ID is set up to access entire colleges or units.  At this time, access authorization cannot be granted at lower levels than that (department or section level), although access authorization for jointly funded orgs or program is available, e.g., you are responsible for budgeting on a section or department outside of your college or unit.  Simply specify these requirements when requesting access for your Direct Connect ID.

To request access for an existing Direct Connect ID or to request a new Direct Connect ID, an email should be sent to ubo-help@cornell.edu by the college/unit budget officer.

Any common reporting tool can be used to access the database tables, such as Hyperion (using an OCE to define the database connection) or any tool with the capability to set up an ODBC connection to a database.
